Our newest yarn winder purchase by Joyce Knit and Sews is AMAZING!!! They offer a manual and an electric version. I bought the electric version with the speedy guide and go upgrade (which comes with a custom gorgeous box). LOVE LOVE LOVE. See the VIDEO.
We’ve diversified the yarn winder page - the main page is still in use - YARN WINDERS - now we also have YARN WINDERS-ELECTRIC and YARN WINDERS-MANUAL
I’ve decided to remove the scrapbook pages of made socks - these are ALL available on my RAVELRY.
We now have a dedicated AUTOKNITTER page.
A new video reviewing the Open CAM upthrow CAMs on the Autoknitter with this short new video.
We invested in the Dreaming Robots electric cone winder initially offered through Kickstarter and after it arrived with testing I decided to go instead for a winder that used the same cardboard cones that I already use for the SN100 Silver Needlea winder (no longer being made) - We ordered the Joyce Knits electric winder with cone adapter for more winding options. See these winders on the YARN WINDER page.

I’ve moved all of my reference photo library images from one account to another (over 40 gb of spur of the moment accessible images)
I’m in the process of other major admin changes
I created a SHOP page as a one page spring board into items available to purchase and simplified a mirrored access on a specific instagram account for image shopping.
New project video page (with written matched printable pattern) https://www.csmlove.com/projects
New video project - CSM: Jam Jar Cover
Adding further information and tips to the Techniques page in the HEELS category under the No Wrap Heel/Toe method… Today a simple tip occurred to me while working the Heel and it works EACH TIME to help not drop any stitches on the increase portion of the Heel or Toe on the CSM. ;)
A new video has been recorded, edited and posted on YouTube. Find it on the main page menu “My Videos and Patterns” on the page “Socks - Cuff Down” under the section “Ribber Related". Here’s the video :)
This pattern is being submitted to Ravelry. :)
Written pattern being uploaded soon.
Somehow the video I had previously created failed to make it to our Techniques page. This page of information can be found under the main page menu “My Videos and Patterns”. I’ve just updated the HUNG HEM category on that page with this video. :)
New video created showing JUST this particular selvage, listed in a vintage Autoknitter manual this selvage utilizes the ribber and a 3 cylinder 1 empty slot repeated cylinder needle setup with E-Wrap project yarn after having cast on. It’s easy and awesome.
Due to repeated requests…. See the INSTAGRAM POST
Announcing a dedicated My Scrapbook SOCKS page (and series of pages) now to be added as their own entity outside of the main Scrapbook page (which will now feature all NON-SOCK items). :) I’ve created a new menu called MY SCRAPBOOK easily found in the menu structure between Supplies and About Karen. See the main My Scrapbook page
New completely revised pages under the MY PATTERNS AND VIDEOS menu: Socks - Cuff Down | Socks - Toe Up |
I’ve also relocated the My Ideas and Upgrades and the My Scrapbook from the “About Karen” menu to the My Patterns and Videos menu.
This is in preparation of the two new fully featured individual pages that will be announced soon.
Working a Heel or a Toe on a CSM can be fast and easy - I created this easy demo to show how quick the No Wrap Short Row Heel can be using the Chambord CSM SweetSpot V Hook and Weight.
Have you been looking for a reliable cone winder? Check out this Silver Needles SN100 winder. For more info on this winder and its current maker PacaKnits Margit Tritt see the YARN WINDER page. Shareable YouTube video: https://youtu.be/sO9IYRtjQIQ
New Tension Dial experiment finished! See the Blog entry Oct 16, 2021 The difference the Tension Dial setting makes
New Live Demo video created today. Read all about it on the (Patterns &) Sock Videos or simply watch the video here :)
New short and sweet silent video showing the up close workings of the needles with using a ribber on a Legare CSM.
IS YOUR PLASTIC WINDER SLIPPING? STOP IMMEDIATELY!
New enhancement added to the YARN WINDERS page.
Address any slippage immediately as any plastic can become irreparably damaged if the parts are loose and you purposely continue.
See the page for further detail.
New video featuring the KristKrafter Yarn Twister. For supplier info please see the YARN WINDER page for the “Specialty Winder” listing and/or the SUPPLIERS page.
Introducing the Supergarne Hawaii four piece CSM sets 0201, 0202, and 0203. (Each set looks similar to the single set shown). Seven more color-ways in progress. (EDIT: 203 is sold).
Originally offered about two years ago, a cover on your CSM Weight Stack helps keep the vintage weights together while the cylinder covers - originally named Cylinder Care Covers - offer additional storage protection for two Cylinders not being used. Finally the Double Ended Universal Bonnet brings the set together - we all deserve pretty things 🙂
I love these and use a variety of extra covers when going to an event to further protect components during transport.
Interested in a set? We are offering each set for $110 with included shipping.
More info can be found on my website under the FOR SALE menu on the “Misc Items” page. These sets are currently being made in 8 colorways with three sets of each colorway. Sets include: one weight stack/stack weight cover, two cylinder covers and one double ended split ring Universal Bonnet.

The new winder ordered April 1/21 has arrived June 23/21 check out the blog entry or see the YARN WINDERS page.
Chart following certainly isn’t a new thing to us crafters but chart following on a CSM might be a new idea for you. Presenting two quick and easy ways to make your pattern easier to work and check on the CSM. Special thanks to @heidibears and @csm_unicorn_designs
Interested in Colorwork? See my website and the Index page for that topic for more info. https://www.csmlove.com/index
A new quick snippet has been shared on YouTube and Instagram with an up close brief look into the current colorwork project. YouTube shareable link https://youtu.be/17CUaoK_hcQ
| Instagram post | When one encounters a non-fatal (all stitches dropped) CSM error you have three options. 1) continue and make it part of your design 2) undo and start over from scratch or 3) undo the unwanted stitches and restart from there. This video shows that last option :) How to unknit on lowered needles is universal on all machine UNTIL you need to move the crankwheel to go further back. That function I find is easiest on my closed Cam CSM like my Legare where needles do not have to be raised to work further in reverse. Regardless to machine live stitches can still drop if they aren’t managed. This shows that management using the Legare. Check it out. See my free CSM resource at www.csmlove.com - this video and many helpful others (sock or otherwise) can be found on my website under PATTERNS AND VIDEOS on the (Technique & Non-Sock) Videos page :) Have a question? Please email me at karenramel@yahoo.com
| Instagram post | As some of you know I’ve started my first CSM colorwork recently after watching Heidi Bears Colorwork video (like 10 times). Fantastic video!
Anyhow I digress :)
I started a cuff down CSM sock and after the cuff started working colorwork. Yeah I fumbled. I fiddled. It wasn’t pretty. And then I GOT it! (I think). So I then chose to start over and in doing thought I’d share my own knowledge nugget from the experience. I’m so excited. Thanks all to Heidi. Yay. https://tinyurl.com/Heidicolorwork
I have dropped the word “YouTube” from three page names and descriptions - (Patterns &) Sock Videos - (Technique & Non-Sock) Videos - CSM Video Hotlist - the urls won’t be changed however to keep page compatible.
Circular sock machine can seem so similar from the outside but what about the inside, their CAMS (the designed metal area that directs the needles to make a successful stitch)? Featured here are our most recent additions: the Dundas and the Harrison VENI VIDI VICI
See our wonderful growing collection on my website under the MISC menu on the CSM Misc (Cams) page. Our collection is largely thanks to contributors just like you. So thank you! The URL for this page is https://www.csmlove.com/csm-misc
I continue to work through different settings and technique on creating an Adult CSM hat using a 72 cylinder and 36 or 72 ribber dial - aiming to create something ANYONE with those items can make themselves without having to buy a higher than 72 needle slot setup. After multiple dead ends using a very twisted and kinked Nora fiber, I finally called it after over a week of finding the time to try different things without full success - the kinked and twisted fiber would jump off the cylinder needle without warning, dropping worked stitches. One successful hat finished, a second more dense hat is being processed (ribbed stitches need an assist to undo with such stiff knitted work - its time consuming and left to be done over lunch breaks at work).
Reorganized the Navigation menu on the upper half of the main page, adding clarity to the menus and highlighting the INDEX page. Moved the cylinder needle how a stitch is formed diagram to the right of the navigation menu and reorganized the middle top CSM start menu also mentioning the INDEX page..
It gives me great joy to share that our Instagram has now hit 600 followers and our YouTube channel is only 2 followers short of 1000 at 998! Thanks to you! So thank you! Let’s continue to share our CSM Love. Sharing our craft and helping others. All the best.

Massive upgrade and reorganization of the website started today. Apologies for any errors - please advise if you find any :)
-Revised the page names of MY YOUTUBE VIDEOS and MY YOUTUBE SOCK VIDEOS to (Technique & Non-Sock)YouTube Videos and (Patterns &) YouTube Videos to aid in clarity on what the pages are. I removed “MY” to make a shorter reference, noting where they appear in the menus and the info on the page to clarify who made those videos. :)
-Alphabetized the categories on my non-sock video page MY YOUTUBE VIDEOS
-upgraded the mark your cylinder (72) on the CSM VIDEO HOTLIST-YOUTUBE
-Created a “SUPPLIES I LIKE - VINTAGE” page to move the vintage related recommendations to their own page from the SUPPLIES I LIKE general page. Added the clarity on the differences between an older or newer Legare with regards to the Yarn Carrier Timing Bolts the newer machines have and how they should look. If you have a Legare with this feature and cannot achieve a success cast on there might be something needing adjustment or correction there. Also updated my LEGARE page.
-Alphabetized and better organized “My Ideas and Upgrades” adding a link to that page in the supplies menu.
-Changing “Learning & Creating” to “CSM Learning” and restricting that menu to just learning, help and and the handout page (which is a hotspot page for further info on how to use a universal bonnet with future event related info to be placed here like a whiteboard). Relocating CSM news to the MISC menu. Relocating “My Scrapbook” and “My Ideas and Upgrades” to the About Me menu.
-New Menu created “Patterns and Video” with all my related pages “My Sock YouTube Videos”, “My YouTube Videos”, the “Books and Blogs”, “CSM Video Hot-list YouTube”, “CSM Patterns and More”. All pages here are now alphabetical.
Rebuild and reformatted of the Comments and Appreciation on the Thank you page (located under the About Karen menu). We experienced issues with the quantity of images on that page so we’ve reorganized that section to a main THANK YOU page (now with Universal Bonnet Feedback!) and a general area of comments and appreciation from you, the awesome CSMer. We’ve now limited each additional page to 100 comments and at this time, there are three pages :) | Page 1 | Page 2 | Page 3 |
The CSM Events page is now password protected - accessible through a password changed monthly
We’ve supersized our Quick Lookup INDEX page to now include Techniques….. (this seemed a better idea than creating a second Technique specific Index page - which could cause confusion on which page to go for what when looking information up)
MORE INFO: I’ve created a cross-reference for that technique you’re trying to find more info on without having to blindly watch different videos or read different websites for. If it’s my personal content it will be on this page. If it’s not my personal content this will be indicated. This will further help you find what you seek in a more precise way.
For example: You want to know how to work a HUNG HEM (if you knew what that was?). This page will show you where you can go within its electronic folds to find that specific info. Enjoy!
CHECK IT OUT!
NEW technique introduced - summarized in this photo and detailed in this video!
More Heel Spring adventuring see CSM Start-CSM3 and MY IDEAS & UPGRADES
Upgraded the GET HELP page with a new calendar scheduling service that allows the viewer to see what days and time I am available to help them using THEIR time zone (and mine automatically).
I’ve revamped and reorganized the CSM Start sequence of pages CSM Start 1 | CSM Start 2 | CSM Start 3 | and have added CSM Start 4!
Also updated is the CSM Cast On page
CSM Start 3 features how to set ANY CSM Baseline/factory settings.
CSM Start 4 has the recommended guide or bucket list to consider working through as a new CSM user and also briefly discusses TIMING YOUR RIBBER.
The MY SCRAPBOOK page was recently updated and reformatted to show Ravelry projects by category rather than timeline. Now find the sock style by quick visual reference in its cateogry - Toe Up, Cuff Down, Mock Rib, Ribbed Sock?
Older nnouncements have been removed to keep this page fresh.
