Ways to store actual cards
Punch cards that are blank (and ready to punch)
Standard Singer cards are marked to row 57 while Brother cards are marked to row 55 (however punch cards can be made longer if using the roll style - and all can be made shorter as needed as long as they’re long enough to join beginning to end if desired)
Singer cards from the absolute edge start row one 8 rows from the edge (or on the 6th row after the double row)
Brother cards
-blank and unmarked roll only featuring edge holes allowing material to be fed into the punch card reader
-redsinger card size segments on a roll (with number markings)
-Red Singer ”321” cards which feature this on one margin along with toe markings on the left and right margins
-Dark blue/black marked Brother cards with row markings to 55

Tools that make new punch card making easier
You can use any 24 stitch punchcards on any 24st machine.
The exceptions are lace cards, ribber cards, colour changer cards and garter carriage cards.
Cards with letters like J or M etc letters were just the different sets provided with each machine. You’ll find most of each set have identical cards with just one or two differences.
The KG cards are for the garter carriage and KRC are for the colour changer.
Fairisle, tuck and motif cards can be used on any machine, it’s just the start line that will differ.
